Sign up, set up your organization in four steps and start your trial.
New to MedAssistant and no one has invited you yet? This page walks you from signing up to your first recording. Allow about ten minutes.
Were you invited?
If a manager added you to their organization, don't create a new organization: follow Join an organization instead.
Before you start
- A work email address you have access to: it's your username and receives the confirmation link.
- A cell phone or a computer with a microphone to try the Scribe.
- No credit card for the free trial. A card is only requested if your registration doesn't include a trial.
The steps
Create your credentials
Open the sign-up page (the Try for free button on the website), enter your email address and choose a password.
Confirm your email address
A confirmation email arrives within a few minutes. Click its link, then come back to MedAssistant and choose I've confirmed, log in.
Nothing received? Check your spam folder. The address must be exactly the one you entered.
Complete the setup wizard
The wizard has four steps. You can change the language and theme at the top of the screen.
- Identification: first name, last name, phone and Profession. Your profession is used to preselect the tools that suit you; choose Other to pick them yourself. The Your organization section is optional: without a name, the organization takes yours.
- Plan: the length of the trial is shown on the plan. Billing only starts at the end of the trial.
- Tools: the questionnaires and scribes Recommended for your profession are already checked. Add others with Explore tools from other professions. You need at least one, and all are included at no cost. Missing a tool? The Special request link writes to us directly.
- Confirmation: check the summary. If a colleague gave you a code, enter it in Have a referral code?. Enter a promo code in Have a promo code?, then Apply: the discount shows right away and will apply to your invoices after the trial.
Then choose Start free trial. Your organization is created on the spot, with no credit card.
If your registration doesn't include a trial, the button reads Continue to payment: the secure payment page then asks for your billing address and a card.
Open your organization
The Your organization is ready. screen confirms that your trial has started. Choose Open MedAssistant.
What you get
Your account gets two roles in the new organization:
- Manager, to set up the organization, invite your team and manage billing;
- Professional, to use the Scribe, questionnaires and the calendar.
The subscription includes one Professional seat: yours. To add colleagues, see Roles and seats, then Users.

During the trial
- The days left in your trial card, at the bottom of the sidebar, reminds the manager how much time is left. It disappears as soon as a payment method is saved.
- An email warns you a few days before the trial ends if no payment method is saved.
- Add a payment method at any time with Add a payment method (trial card or Billing). The secure page asks for your card and your billing address, which is used to calculate taxes; nothing is charged before the trial ends.
- If the trial ends without a payment method, the subscription ends: the app shows No active subscription and the manager chooses Resubscribe to restore it (see Resubscribe). Your data isn't deleted because of it: it follows the organization's retention periods.
Special cases
You probably already have an account with this address. Log in instead and, if needed, use Forgot password?.
In Settings, choose Create another account. The same wizard creates a separate organization, with its own subscription. You then switch from one to the other with the organization switcher.
Students and residents in medicine and the other health professions can request free access on the Student access page. The team reviews each request manually.
